I recently stayed at Lotus Honolulu At Diamond Head and had a mostly wonderful experience. The location is fantastic, being just close enough to Waikiki for easy access but far enough away for a peaceful retreat. The room had a lovely view of Diamond Head, and the staff were incredibly attentive, providing really good service. However, I found the onsite dining options limited, particularly the absence of breakfast.
Rooms

My room was clean, tidy, and well-serviced twice a day, plus the view of Diamond Head was lovely. However, the ensuite could use an update, as it felt dated.

The staff were friendly and fun to chat with, especially Paul at the front desk who was full of information and jokes. Sarah really went above and beyond to help me with my booking and made my stay even more enjoyable.

I loved the hotel's position, just across from Kapiolani Park and a short walk to the beach. It felt secluded yet accessible, making it easy to explore without being in the heart of the bustle.

While I appreciated the evening wine hour, it was a bit disappointing that the restaurant only served dinner, and breakfast options were limited to a nearby cafe that was pricey. I really missed having breakfast available on site.

The hotel offered great amenities like complimentary beach chairs, towels, and even bikes to explore the area. I did find the bikes to be in less than ideal condition, which was a missed opportunity for a good experience.

My stay at Lotus Honolulu At Diamond Head was a mix of highs and lows. On the positive side, the hotel offers beautiful views of Diamond Head and is situated in a tranquil area, perfect for relaxation away from Waikiki's hustle. However, I faced some challenges with the room arrangements and the communication from staff, which left me feeling frustrated at times.
Rooms

I had some issues with room placements initially, as the first room had only one bed instead of the two I booked. After a few adjustments, I finally got a room on the upper floors with a fantastic view of Diamond Head.

While some staff were friendly, I encountered miscommunication regarding my room. However, there was one on-call employee who genuinely helped make my mother's surprise trip special, showcasing the hotel's potential for excellent service.

The hotel's location was perfect, just a few steps away from a semi-private beach and adjacent to Kapiolani Park, which made it a great retreat from the busy areas of Waikiki, yet still accessible to local dining and attractions.

While the on-site restaurant was only open for dinner, it offered a good culinary experience. However, I would have loved if there were breakfast options available at the hotel rather than relying on nearby cafes.

The hotel had nice amenities, like complimentary beach chairs and a well-maintained gym, but I did find the bicycles available for use in poor condition, which detracted from my enjoyment.

However, I did encounter some unpleasant cigar and cigarette smoke from neighboring balconies and some rude guests, which really threw off the experience.

I loved the hotel's positioning at the quieter end of Waikiki, adjacent to a lovely park and just a short stroll to the beach. This area felt like a tranquil retreat, which was perfect for my relaxation needs. It was still within reach of restaurants and shops, making it an ideal location to explore without being overwhelmed by crowds.
